Find a practice and check its details

Use our directory of dental practices in Bulgaria to search by town and find available contact details. Confirm the address and appointment arrangements with the practice.

A name in a professional register and a contract with the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF, НЗОК) answer different questions. One concerns professional registration; the other concerns contracted services under public health insurance. Neither shows available appointments or confirms that a particular treatment will be fully funded.

The registers and NHIF arrangements below are for Bulgaria. If you are seeking care in another country, use that country’s registers and check your own insurance cover.

In the NHIF dentist search, begin with the region and narrow the results by municipality, contracted package or specialty. Check the practitioner's name and practice address before calling. A result is a starting point for contact, not a confirmed booking.

The Bulgarian Dental Association's public register supports searches by name, professional identification code (ЛПК) or regional association. If names match, ask for the practitioner's exact details. If you cannot find an expected entry, check the spelling and seek clarification from the association rather than drawing a conclusion from one search.

Ask about the specific service

“Do you work with NHIF?” starts the conversation. Then clarify the patient's age, the service sought and what the practice can provide under its contract. Ask which documents and checks are needed. If you do not know what treatment is required, establish the arrangements for an examination first.

Ask what NHIF pays, what you contribute and which proposed services are outside the package. The 2026 NHIF dental guide explains annual limits and contributions; children have a separate guide. Check the conditions for your treatment date, particularly when rules change during the year.

For clarification about your case, use NHIF's official contacts or the relevant regional fund (РЗОК). Do not send identity documents to an unverified address from an advertisement or forum.

Keep the explanations and documents

After your visit, keep the treatment plan, receipts and care instructions. Ask the practice to explain any description or charge you do not understand. If you think a treatment has been incorrectly reported to NHIF, give the fund the date and explain what does not match your visit.

Official links for rights and institutions are on the oral-health page. Use our treatment-plan questions when comparing proposals.
